In the new issue of More Magazine, the actress opens up about being a single mother.
As far as real-life soap operas go, nothing captivated Hollywood gossip-mongers quite like the Bridget Moynahan-Tom Brady-Gisele Bundchen love triangle in 2007. Moynahan, then 36, was surprised to learn that she was 3 months pregnant with the child of her ex-boyfriend, Tom Brady, who, at that point, had already moved onto a relationship with supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
And although the ensuing drama was great fodder for tabloid magazines, Bridget recently gave an interview to More Magazine, saying that she had no regrets about having her son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan, now 3, on her own. Bridget Moynahan Furious At Gisele Bundchen
"There's not a second that I regret having a child on my own," said the actress, adding that she is on good terms with her son's stepmother.
"I don't think any girl grows up dreaming of being a single mom...It's a challenge. Here is the most valuable part of your life, your child, and you have to learn to let go and hand him over to the person that you couldn't communicate enough with to have a relationship."
These days, Bridget is a working mother and is currently starring on the CBS cop series, Blue Bloods, alongside co-star Donnie Wahlberg, who, himself, is no stranger to personal relationship drama or being a single parent. Donnie Wahlberg Is Divorced
"She's inspiring. She talks about her son all day," said Wahlberg. "She doesn't bad-mouth Tom to me, and I certainly wouldn't bad-mouth my ex to her. Sometimes it's just sharing pictures of our kids and a joke. She's very funny."
And although Bridget doesn't see herself as a role model for single mothers - "I can't help anyone make the decision" - we commend her for being great example of how to move on from a messy breakup with a lot of grace and class.
