Liam Neeson Still Grieves For Natasha Richardson

The actor is still affected by his wife's passing, and lets it go it in an interview with Esquire.

It may be nearly two years since actress Natasha Richardson passed on—but for Liam, the memories are still very real, based on his interview with Esquire, which is already online and will appear in the March issue.

While Liam touched on a lot of things with the mag, it looks like there was a lot of Natasha talk on the menu while he was out to lunch with the writer of the article, Tom Chiarella. From Liam telling a story about his son and seeing Natasha shine through him to his speaking fondly about his dog now, which used to be Natasha's, and the strong bond they formed, he and this dog, a little poodle. He later reflected on his accident when she rushed to his side and when the tables had turned and he rushed to her side after her dreadful skiing accident. It was him choosing to publicly unload all his feelings, which he hadn't really done in the public eye right after she'd died.

How did Liam really deal with his wife's passing? He buried himself in his work, according to what he told Esquire: "I think I survived by running away some. Running away to work. Listen, I know how old I am and that I'm just a shoulder injury from losing roles like the one in Taken. So I stay with the training, I stay with the work. It's easy enough to plan jobs, to plan a lot of work. That's effective. But that's the weird thing about grief. You can't prepare for it. You think you're gonna cry and get it over with. You make those plans, but they never work. It hits you in the middle of the night — well, it hits me in the middle of the night. I'm out walking. I'm feeling quite content. And it's like suddenly, boom."

If we didn't love Liam before, we love him times ten now. To get into his head and hear about his grief makes it -- and his love for Natasha -- very real. Sure, he's dated a new lady since then.... But it's clear that it'll be a while before he can let go of Natasha. Liam Neeson Starts Dating Again

If you can't wait for the print (and we don't suggest you do) then definitely read the full interview. There's a heck of a lot to Liam and he really is very sentimental about her.

Now THAT'S a sexy trait in a man if we've ever seen one.
