It's been an crazy week in terms of celebrity splits. As the tally racks up, we're struggling to keep up. And it's only Wednesday! Tony Hawk Getting Divorced...Again

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz are the latest couple to file for divorce. According to TMZ, they cited "irreconcilable differences" when they turned in documents to the L.A. Superior Court on Tuesday.

Simpson and Wentz started dating in 2006 and married in May of 2008. After rumors of Ashlee's pregnancy swirled around their wedding, the pair welcomed their son, Bronx Mowgli, in November of that same year. Now their union is dissolving less than three years later.

Reported People: "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," Simpson and Wentz said through a spokesperson. "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives." Olivia Wilde Splits From Her Italian-Prince Husband

This split came as a big shock for most. Last week, Pete happily shared his and Ashlee's Super Bowl recipe tips with People. Just a few days ago, the couple was all smiles while out and about in Hollywood with Bronx. But according to an insider close to Ashlee, she has been ready to make the split for some time now.

"It's really all about Pete's erratic behavior," the source told TMZ. "She really wanted out."

According to the court papers, Ashlee is seeking spousal support and primary physical custody of their son, with visitation for Wentz. She is also looking to drop the "Wentz" from her last name.

Erratic behavior, spousal support and primary custody? Sheesh. Sounds like this break-up carries the potential for messy complications.

It's been a jam-packed week of celebrity-split surprises. Who will be the next couple to call it quits?
