Unique Gifts For Valentine’s Day

Unique Gifts for Valentine’s Day

You’ve done wine and roses, you’ve taken her to the fanciest restaurant in town, and the way her diet is going, you fear chocolates would be in poor taste. But that pretty much rules out all the standard stuff for Valentine's Day. So how do you come up with a romantic gesture that shows the woman you love just how much she means to you? Easy: go for a gift that is completely original and totally unexpected! Here are a few ideas you might want to consider.

1. Custom playlist. Everyone has an iPod (or other MP3 player) these days. So give her the modern version of a mix tape full of songs by her favorite bands interspersed with love tunes that tell her how you really feel.

2. Tango lessons. Most women would love to have a partner in life who can also be their partner on the dance floor. So pluck up your courage and purchase tango lessons for two. You’ll not only earn her eternal goodwill, but all that passionate embracing on the dance floor may well continue into the bedroom after your lessons. Who knows, you might even find that you enjoy dancing after all.

3. Scrapbook. Most guys wouldn’t think to make a memory book, which is why this gift is even more special. Show her that you’ve really been paying attention all along by filling the pages of a scrapbook with photos from some of your favorite times with her. Don’t forget to pen some personal memories of events that highlight why you love her, now and forever.

4. A new mattress. Nobody is going to feel the spark of romance when they’re tossing and turning on a lumpy mattress. So if you’re looking for a way to fan the flames in your love nest, pick out a super comfy mattress and some new bedding (nothing less than 400 thread count!) and have it all set up and waiting for her when she comes home from work.

5. A clean house. If you think you need to spend a lot to get your lady in the mood, think again. Some of the best gifts only require a commitment of your time. You may not have noticed, but romance is usually the last thing on a woman’s mind when the house is a mess. So take the time to clean (to her standards, not yours) and you’ll likely get a loving reward from a VERY appreciative partner. Not so much with the cleaning skills? Hire a crew to help you out.

6. Time share. If you want to plan a romantic getaway, why not get the gift that keeps on giving by finding a time-share in some exotic locale? For a couple thousand dollars a year, you could have two weeks on the beaches of Maui or a cabin at your favorite ski resort, depending on the type of vacay your loved one prefers.

7. An engagement ring. If you have finally come to the realization that she’s the one, don’t hesitate to make Valentine’s Day even more special by letting her know with a ring, a proposal, and the promise of a lifetime of love.
