Mel Gibson: Is Prison Next?

Although the official verdict is still undecided, inside sources say the LA police should start preparing Mel Gibson's jail cell. We couldn't think of anyone who was more deserving. Charged with hitting ex-girlfriend and baby momma, Oskana Grigorieva, Mel could face up to four years in prison if convicted of a felony or a year if charged as a misdemanor.

Blair Berk, Mel's lawyer,and LA Deptuy District Attorney John Lynch met for two hours to discuss Mel's sentence.

Radaronline.com (via popeater.com) reports that "it was almost inevitable" that Mel would be charged for domestic violence.

"The District Attorney has a very strong case, there is a lot of information that the public and Mel Gibson are unaware that the DA has," said a source.

Yes, we know that Oskana isn't perfect. She supposedly leaked audio tapes of Mel where he says poetic things to the mother of his 14-month old daughter such as her provocative clothing is going to get her "raped by a pack of n**ers," and that she "f*cking deserved" to get hit. Well, The Lethal Weapon star was always a charmer.

Pretty damning evidence. But Mel claims he did it all out of love for his baby daughter, Lucia.

"I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality. I did not slap her hard, I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth," Mel confessed.

Remember when Mel was known for his "cool" roles in movies like Braveheart? And once upon a time Mel even wrote Oskana (who he now fondly calls a golddigger and whore) a love letter.

"Firstly—I LOVE YOU!!!...I could never let you go...I could derive more fulfillment from a mere thought of you than anyone could imagine," Mel wrote (via tmz.com).

We know breakups can be ugly, but we think this Hollywood scandal has gone on long enough, and just pray Lucia makes it out physically and mentally stable.
