Recently, the hunky Aussie actor told the Huffington Post that the film gets a little "hot" at times, explaining that he and Garner share on off-screen love scene together. Their characters don't actually appear in the shot, but their, um, sex groans and moans had to be recorded for the scene. Because this tryst takes place (like a good Midwest love romp should) in the backseat of a car, Garner and Jackman had to be recorded simultaneously from inside a car for acoustic authenticity.
Originally they began recording their moaning together. "We were doing it at the same time, which is one thing," Jackman explains. "But then the guy said, no, this is not going to work."
"'I really need to record you separately,'" Jackman remembers the sound tech saying. "And so, we both had to kind of perform our version, in character, of sex while the other one is quiet. And it was impossible not to be laughing your head off while the other person is doing it. That was humiliating..." Hugh Jackman: A Wolverine In The Sack
Oh, to be a fly on the wall of that soundstage! We like that Hugh felt a little uneasy making sex noises with a woman he wasn't having sex with (or never would—he's a married man!), especially when that woman happens to be a major Baberaham Lincoln like Jennifer Garner. Honestly, we'd be much more creeped out if Hugh was able to do it with a straight face! Hugh Jackman Loves His Wife
But, we do have to disagree with Hugh on one point: "Guys never sound good during sex. It's impossible to sound good," he says.
Sex isn't about sounding good, Hugh, it's about making your partner feel good! Grunts, moans, and groans are the language of sex and are super tantalizing mid-coitus. But, we can agree that these noises probably sound ridiculous when not accompanied by the physical pleasures of love making... and not just for men, but women too!
Do you ever feel awkward making noise during sex?
