Movie dates, fancy dinners, and drinks at the bar are all great date ideas—even the world's favorite royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, enjoy a night at the cinema now and again. But after a while, they start to feel a little stale, which is why the royal couple's latest outing has us thinking that volunteering with your partner might be an even better date idea than catching a flick! Kate Middleton and Prince William Go On A Cheap Date
According to the Daily Mail, the royal pair stepped out today for the opening of the children's cancer unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, Surrey. On their volunteering agenda? Meet and chat with the center's doctors, young patients and their families, as well as reunite with young Alice Marples, a 12-year-old with a brain tumor (she actually interviewed the Prince two years ago!).
While volunteer work may seem obligatory for the royals, it seems like something this pair really enjoys (much like William's mother Diana once did). Fun And Free: Volunteer Date
According to the Daily Mail, "William is president of the Royal Marsden – the first hospital in the world dedicated to cancer treatment and research into the causes of the disease. He took over from his mother, who took on the role in 1989 until her death in 1997."
We can't help but imagine how volunteering must bring these newlyweds closer together. Wills, for example, hadn't slept prior to arriving at the cancer center. The poor guy was on a 24-hour shift with the Royal Air Force and went out on two calls before flying from his base over to Surrey! Kate reportedly patted her hubby on the back when she heard about his long, sleepless night. New Trend: Newlyweds Put The Volunteer In Honeymoon
Right now Kate is said to be learning more about various charities and causes so she can decide what her future role will be. Whatever she chooses, we're sure she'll have her husband by her side on more than a few volunteer outings. What a great way to spend some quality time together!
Have you ever volunteered for a cause with your partner? If not, would you consider it?
