Three months after calling off their engagement, the couple is said to be back together again.
The title of this story really should be, "Rachel Bilson is Spotted, Shopping for Lingerie," because that says it all, doesn't it? If you had started to see your ex again, the one you had called off your engagement to only 3 months ago, you would run right out to La Perla or Kiki de Montparnasse (or, in Rachel's case, a store in Loz Feliz) and buy some sexy, new lingerie too, wouldn't you?
That seems to be the case, as Rachel Bilson's former fiancé, Hayden Christensen, was seen leaving her house last week, after what we assume was a visit to check out Rachel's new additions to her underwear collection. Even if one of their friends hadn't confirmed that they were dating again to People Magazine, we probably could have figured it out.
What we can't seem to understand is why they broke up in the first place. Let's forget, for a moment, about those rumors that Hayden, 29, is gay and that Rachel, also 29, is his beard, and assume that their relationship is what it appears to be on the surface: a serious one between two, young, B-list Hollywood stars.
When they first met on the set of Jumper in 2007, their publicists must have thought that they were super-cute together (as did their friends,) because everything between them seemed to go so well that they got engaged at the end of 2008.
But then, this past summer, something happened (According to People, it was the stress of their long-distance relationship, but, maybe it was something else. Maybe one of them cheated?) and they officially broke up in August, but not before there was this awkward limbo of a couple of months where they were separated, but people were starting to figure it out. And then, sadly, came the official statement that they were dunzo. Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen Break Up
But here we are again, just 3 short months later, and we're hearing reports that, not only the two have reconciled, but, they're already shopping for new engagement rings as well!
And while we really hope that they can make it work this time, we're a bit skeptical. Sure, new lingerie and some time apart could definitely rev up a relationship that had slowed down after 2+ years of dating, but is it enough to make a Hollywood relationship last through a lifetime of marriage? We guess we'll find out. Why Rachel Bilson Won't Be Mrs. Christensen
Rachel, Hayden: we have our fingers crossed for you!
