Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon confirm pregnancy on Access Hollywood
Mariah and husband Nick Cannon discuss their present happiness and past heartbreak.

Everyone has known for months that Mariah Carey is pregnant, even if the songstress and her husband, Nick Cannon, have refused to comment on the rumors. But this morning on Today, Mariah finally confirmed the obvious—she and Nick are expecting. Mariah wouldn't divulge the baby's sex or give a due date, only saying that "it's still early." However, a seemingly legit source (who said on Monday that Mariah would be making an official statement soon) recently told HollyBaby.com that Mariah is four months pregnant with a boy.

The Today clip comes from an exclusive three-part interview with Access Hollywood, which will air today and Friday. In it, Mariah and Nick tell Billy Bush that they've been trying to "hold on to a shred of privacy," but are now ready to celebrate their happiness with friends and family. An excited Nick gushes, "The greatest gift on earth is a child. We've had names picked out from the first day we met and we want to stay true to that."

Many have speculated that Mariah has been so tight-lipped about her condition because, at 41, she's worried that something could go wrong. And it turns out that this is a very real fear, as Mariah also reveals that she suffered a miscarriage nearly two years ago. Not long after their marriage, Mariah and Nick discovered that they were expecting. Just as the couple were about to tell their families the good news, they found out that Mariah had lost the baby. Mariah says that the traumatic experience took the couple to "a place that was really dark and difficult," but Nick says their tragic loss ultimately bought them closer together.

We wish Mariah, Nick and the little one on the way all the best!
