The comedian is divorcing the woman who saved his life.

After seventeen years of marriage, one kid, and one kidney, George Lopez is splitting from his wife, Ann Lopez.

Although rumor has it that Lopez wasn't exactly faithful during their marriage, sources say the decision to split was mutual and a long time coming.

The couple's rep told TMZ: "George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage. The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement. They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, The Lopez Foundation."

Still, we gotta say, the divorce news sure makes Lopez look like a pretty big (you can fill in the blanks here), especially if he did cheat on his soon-to-be ex-wife. (They're just alleged claims now.)

After all, in 2005, she saved his life by giving her one of his kidneys — and this is how he repays her?!?! It's hard to doubt a woman's devotion when he gives you one of her kidneys.

It kinda looks like now that he's got a new kidney and a hot new talk show (not to mention Sandra Bullock for a best friend), he's decided to ditch his wife for greener pastures.

If it were us and we found out that the man who was walking around with our kidney, cheated on us, we'd probably call in the big shot divorce lawyers and fight to gain custody of that kidney again.

But it looks like Lopez has a far more evolved and generous wife, who according to their rep, is equally committed to a peaceful split and doesn't seem to have any plans to ask for that kidney back. So hey, props to Ann for being a total class act! Unfortunately, we're not sure we can say the same for George.
