Young love, it’s never meant to last, is it? Especially not in the case of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. The teen queen, who once told a reporter that she and Liam were "deeper than other people," recently called it quits with her Aussie boyfriend of one year.
Miley, 17, and Liam, 20, first met on the Georgia film set of The Last Song, and it seems that Miley, who had just broken up with her ex Justin Gaston, was smitten right away.
"I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, 'I have been in L.A. for three years, and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me,'" she told Ellen Degeneres back in March.
"It wasn’t that he wanted the job. That’s just who he is. I was like, ‘Wow, that is super-impressive.’ I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent."
The only problem? Liam already had a girlfriend at the time, back home in Australia. But, luckily for Miley, that girl wasn’t an international superstar, so Miley had no problem stealing him away. Miley Cyrus Steals Australian Girl's Boyfriend
"He was my boyfriend and my best friend," said the heartbroken Laura Griffin, who publicly called Miley out for being a man-stealer in Australian Woman’s Day Magazine. "There is no other reason why we would have broken up."
Reportedly, Laura found out that Liam had left her after seeing tabloid photos of him and Miley making out off-screen. She supposedly wrote on her Facebook wall, "Liam and I have been inseparable since school. But it's Miley Cyrus. How can I compete?"
