Cheryl Hines Getting A Divorce
By Sara Brady. Posted on .
Cheryl Hines and her husband, producer and manager Paul Young, are divorcing, according to E! Online. The couple, who have been married for eight years and have a six-year-old daughter, Catherine, filed for divorce July 20. A rep for Cheryl says, "They will remain extremely close friends and will raise their daughter together."
Cheryl, who plays Larry David's wife on the HBO sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, now joins her on-screen husband in divorce. Larry and his wife of 14 years, environmental activist Laurie David, divorced in 2007, and in June Laurie denied some nasty rumors that she was the reason for her friend and fellow activist Al Gore's divorce from his wife, Tipper. We're not of the opinion that divorce is contagious, but maybe Curb costars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, and Wanda Sykes should schedule some couple time with their special someones just in case. Cheryl will surely be on the Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday, backing up her TV hubby, who's nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series; their show is also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series as well as two other awards. It has to be a little intimidating to run that gauntlet of media alone just days after announcing a split like this, so we hope Cheryl has some support in the form of hunky arm candy. Or if she goes stag she can keep her eyes open at the show. We hear that cute Matthew Morrison is single. And maybe that will deflect some of the awkwardness that's sure to ensue when Larry inevitably writes Cheryl's divorce into the next season of the show.
