Fantasia Barrino's Ex Speaks Out

Fantasia Barrino's Ex Speaks Out

Antwaun Cook says the American Idol star is not to blame for the breakup of his marriage.

Antwaun Cook, the married man at the heart of the Fantasia Barrino suicide scandal is now speaking out to defend his former lover. The reality TV star, who downed a bottle of aspirin and sleeping pills in a reported suicide attempt, after word got out that she was having an affair with Cook, has stayed mum since she was released from the hospital. But sources tell the folks over at that Barrino went off the deep end after Cook's wife filed divorce papers, alleging that Fantasia and Antwaun were sleeping together and made multiple sex tapes while he was still married. (Seriously, will celebs ever learn to stop with the sex tapes already?!?!) All About The Eva Mendes "Sex Tape"

Although Fantasia admitted to having a relationship with Cook, she claimed he told her he was separated at the time. (We're not so sure that makes it any better, since they were still legally married, but maybe, that's just a technicality.) Still Antwaun insists that the demise of his marriage had nothing to do with his cheating in an attempt to clear Fantasia's name.

"Antwaun would be remiss not to address the criticism and judgement he has received. He knew Fantasia Barrino but the failure of his marriage can in no way be blamed on anyone except the two people that were a part of the union—Paula and Antwaun," his lawyer, Nicole Sodoma, said in a statement.

We're sorry but what's with the talking through your lawyers BS? It's time to face up to the heartbreak you've caused, take responsibility and defend your lady yourself! Not that Cook admitted much in his statement unless by "knew Fantasia Barrino," he meant, "was sleeping with Fantasia". But his lawyer did insinuate that he was separated from his wife during the time that he "knew" the reality star.
