In news that is sure to make Lindsay Lohan wonder ‘How did he do that?', Charlie Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault this week but will not serve any jail time. In exchange, the prosecutors have dropped the more serious, felony charges, and Charlie will only serve 30 days of probation, 30 days of rehab, and 36 hours of anger management classes.
The charges all stem from a Christmas day fight the Two and a Half Men star had with his wife Brooke Mueller, who alleged that Charlie held a knife to her throat after she threatened to divorce him. According to the AP, Charlie denied threatening her, although he did admit to police that they had fought and that he was upset by the divorce threat. (Not surprising, when you consider how messy a divorce he and Denise Richards went through and how much money he would stand to lose if he and Brooke broke up.) Charlie Sheen Is Going To Jail
On his way out from the courtroom, the actor hammed it up for the cameras and blew kisses to the crowd. He told reporters that he was "going to Disneyland" when they asked what he would do next. In reality, he is going to Promises Treatment Center, but perhaps he was just in a good mood, having both reconciled with his wife and successfully dodged jail time.
