Sandra Bullock took time out yesterday from her laid-back Texas life with her seven-month-old son, Louis, to renew the restraining order she's had against a crazy stalker. Thomas James Weldon has been obsessed with Sandra since 2003, and the order she filed on Monday is just the latest in a long trail of legal actions aimed at keeping him away from the actress and her family. "His preoccupation with Ms. Bullock is obvious," a psychiatrist wrote in an evaluation of Weldon, who believes Sandra communicates with him telepathically. Dude. Practical Magic was a movie.
Sandra and Louis also traveled to Los Angeles last week, for the funeral of the wife of Sandra's longtime collaborator, screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman's 42-year-old wife, Rebecca, died suddenly of a heart attack July 6. Sandra has also been kept busy finalizing her divorce from Jesse James, while still finding time to spend with Jesse's three kids. She said in the aftermath of Jesse's horrid Bombshell McGee disaster that she wanted to stay in her stepchildren's lives. Sandra Bullock's Values Show In Adoption, Divorce
In addition, the actress, who has donated millions to disaster relief in the past (notably to the Hurricane Katrina, Haiti earthquake, and Indonesian tsunami recovery efforts), appeared in a PSA for Gulf Coast cleanup released today. (Louis was born in New Orleans, and she owns a home there.) She seems to have put most of her in-the-pipeline film projects on hold to focus on her family and charity projects, which we have to guess is a comfort after the incredibly publicly embarrassing six months she had. And if it's any more salve, she's looking absolutely amazing. Good Lord. Talk about living well as the best revenge.
