Michael Douglas' Ex Wants More Money

Diandra Douglas, ex-wife of Michael Douglas, must have seen Wall Street one too many times because she's really taking that whole "greed is good" bit seriously.

Although Michael forked over $45 million to Diandra in their 2000 divorce settlement (a small price to pay for getting Catherine Zeta-Jones), Diandra's lawyers are now claiming that the settlement entitled her to not only a portion of Michael's earnings from movies made while they were still married (including Wall Street), but also a chunk of any money earned from said movies' spin-offs. So, Diandra is on the edge of her seat waiting for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps to hit theaters this fall, as it's expected to be a huge box office hit. The Most Expensive Celebrity Divorces

The battle of semantics has already begun, as Michael's attorney argued last week that the new film is not a spin-off but a sequel, saying that "They're not the same thing."  We suppose that's technically true. A spin-off would probably be a direct-to-video affair called Gordon Gekko's Place, in which Gordon reforms to care for his plucky young niece, played by someone like Noah Cyrus.

We're definitely rooting for Team Michael. Seriously, has Diandra blown through her $45 mil already? How can she honestly think she is entitled to take money from a man she divorced 10 years ago? And trying to work in that "future spin-off" clause is a bit desperate. It's not like Michael was in Star Wars or something that will just keep making money until the end of time. No one these days wants a Romancing the Stone action figure. And no one wants to see Basic Instinct Part III.
