James Van Der Beek Is Going To Be A Dad

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 7 years since Dawson’s Creek went off the air, but with James Van Der Beek’s recent announcement that he’s going to become a dad, there’s no denying that the kids of fictional Capeside, Mass. are all grown up.

After splitting from his former wife Heather Ann McComb last year, James, who played Dawson Leery from 1998 to 2003, met and began dating a business consultant named Kelly Brook in July 2009. According to LimeLife.com, James, who is now starring on the TV show Mercy, first announced the pregnancy to his fans via Twitter with a message that stated, "Yes, it's true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child. "We're so excited to announce we are expecting a girl!" added Kelly about the baby, which is due this fall. "We are thinking and taking suggestions for names, but we have no idea what to call her right now."

With co-stars Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams already parents to Suri Cruise, 4, and Matilda Ledger, 4, respectively, a 10-year-reunion of Dawson’s Creek might be able to double as a playgroup.
