The British royal palace denies the Kate Middleton pregnancy rumors.
Did anyone really believe that Kate Middleton was actually pregnant? Although Star Magazine recently reported that the royal family was in a "frantic scramble to keep [the] scandal secret," we didn't believe for one moment that "Waity Katie" would risk throwing away the chance at becoming Princess Diana 2.0 and all that entails by becoming pregnant out of wedlock. (Not to mention the fact that illegitimate children are rarely ever granted royal titles.)
According to Star, "William was up at his military base in North Wales when Kate called him. She was sobbing so hard, she could hardly get the words out. She told him that despite their precautions, she is pregnant."
Although we wouldn’t be surprised if the idea of getting pregnant hadn’t at least crossed Kate’s mind - She has been waiting for over 7 years for commitment-phobic Prince William to propose, after all- we agree with the royal spokesperson who said this report was “a load of rubbish.” We’re sure that at one point, HRH Princess Kate will become pregnant, but commoner, non-engaged Kate Middleton? We don’t think so. Star's report sounds more like a scene out of a soap opera than real life to us. Mayan Calendar Predicts Royal Wedding in 2012
Interesting enough, the royal spokesperson also denied the more credible rumor that the couple is planning to elope later this year and bypass having a public, televised wedding like the one Princess Charles and Princess Di had. However, if Prince William and Kate really wanted to maintain some sense of privacy (and, as an added bonus, stick it to the tabloid reporters and paparazzi who have made their lives hell for the past few years,) eloping to a tropical island and, afterwards, sending out a press release and perhaps one photo à la JFK Jr. is exactly what they should do.
