It's been a while since we've heard any news on the messy LeAnn Rimes/Eddie Cibrian affair, which caused the breakup of both of their marriages (to Dean Sheremet and Brandi Glanville, respectively). But guess what? LeAnn has a new single out and will soon be releasing a new album of country love song covers, so girl needs some quick, free PR. What better way to get her name back on everyone's lips than by dredging up this scandal? No matter that not many people really thought it was all that newsworthy to begin with.
The singer recently spoke to People about the affair, stating that she hates that people were hurt but "doesn't regret the outcome." She also insists that neither she nor Eddie is a homewrecker because, well, neither of their homes were in tip-top shape anyway:
I was out of balance. My marriage was out of balance. There was something missing.
The hardest thing to hear is someone call either of us a homewrecker because we didn't walk into a perfectly happy marriage and ruin it...I don't know what the future holds, but I know it holds Eddie. I'm really happy. I've moved on, and I hope there can be some forgiveness and acceptance. [Source: People, via the Toronto Sun]
So, LeAnn is happy. She got her man. She won. But perhaps she's not the most gracious winner in the world. Seemingly out of nowhere, LeAnn had her lawyers send a cease-and-desist letter to Eddie's estranged wife Brandi, based on her allegations that LeAnn was stalking Eddie. Allegations that Brandi made last year—before Eddie ever admitted that he was having an affair. Perhaps LeAnn has been too busy having sex with Brandi's soon-to-be ex-husband to legally address those slanderous accusations, but it seems that she's finally found the time. Apparently, if Brandi's lawyers don't respond to the letter within five days, LeAnn intends to move forward with a lawsuit.
Poor LeAnn. How awful it must have been for her to have Brandi accuse her of stalking her husband, when she was actually screwing him the whole time! Gosh, can't these scorned women get their facts straight?
