So Why Exactly Is Jesse James Going On TV?

Jesse James Interview
Is it for the money? To clear his name? To win back Sandra Bullock?

Tonight, Jesse James will be on ABC's Nightline to talk about the whole sordid affair that is Jesse James. What will he say? What can he say? And, more importantly: Why is he saying it? Why now? Why to us?

And it is to us that he will be speaking. The one thing that we do know is that Sandra Bullock will not be watching the show. Jesse James Follows Sandra Bullock To Austin

After all, why should she? The divorce is 100% on, he knows it, she knows it. And it's not like this confession will change her mind. If anything, it will prove the opposite:

"Jesse has caused Sandra enough pain already," a friend of Sandra's tells PopEater's Rob Shuter. "Hasn't he done enough damage already? Now he's going to 'tell all' on national TV and humiliate her once again. Why?"

Why is the question.

Theory #1: It's About The Money

Rumors exist that this coming forward is primarily about money issues (You may recall the selling of his prized Vanilla Gorilla motorcycle, a bike he built by hand and dearly cherished. More recently comes the news that he is auctioning off many personal items on eBay) and that "he is getting pressured by his handlers to do the interview."

"The public doesn't want anything to do with Jesse or the products he sells that have made him a fortune. Jesse's Girl clothing line, and sales at his Burger restaurant, Cisco, have dropped," an insider tells me. "He has gone from being the coolest guy in the room to the most hated guy in America over night. His business advisers are hoping this interview will be the first of many steps to rehabilitating him and his brands." Source: PopEater

Theory #2: It's About The Reputation

According to Jesse James himself, the real motivation is to tell the world Hey— I'm a liar, not a racist. OK, Jesse...

He says: "I think out of anything this is why I'm doing this interview the most," he said. "Because dealing with losing my marriage and my son and embarrassing everyone and decimating my life. But to be called a racist on top of that, it makes me really sad seeing the photo and the way I look.

He even goes on to say in the interview that "the world" has been a lot harder on him that Sandra has. So maybe this really is between Jesse and us. The question is, can we forgive him?

What's your theory?
