Tom Cruise Allows Katie Holmes To Sing And Dance

For all of the rumors and tabloid stories that Tom Cruise is an overbearing husband who controls his Stepford-like, much younger wife, Katie Holmes seemed like she was having a grand time, performing Whatever Lola Wants at a recent charity event in Los Angeles, alongside a goofy, bopping-along Tom Cruise. (He may be a movie star, but Mr. Cruise is no John Travolta when it comes to dancing – see the video below.)

However, since a story about Katie Holmes having fun doesn’t sell magazines quite like a "Katie Holmes is Miserable Because Tom Cruise Sucks All of the Joy Out of Her Life" story does, the tabloids have decided to take what looked like a fun evening and declare that Tom is forcing Katie to dance and making her practice all of the time so that she becomes a better dancer. According to Celebitchy.com, Tom supposedly wants Katie and him to become “the new Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.” Right. (As if Tom Cruise would ever want to throw away his 20+ years as a badass action star to do a musical.)

Although Tom might have some Type-A tendencies, not to mention an obsessive devotion to Scientology, we seriously doubt that he would force Katie to dance, especially considering that she seems to enjoys it so much. While promoting his new film Knight and Day, Tom recently told Oprah that performing at the charity event was Katie’s idea.

So, rather than Tom catching a bad case of dance fever, it seems more plausible that Katie Holmes just likes to sing and dance, Suri Cruise likes to wear high-heels and sparkly clothes, and Tom, well, he likes to jump on couches and perform dangerous stunts that he may or may not be getting too old for. They are just a normal, kooky family where everyone has their own hobbies, OK?
