Lindsay Lohan narrowly avoided going to jail this week; instead of finishing her alcohol education classes like the judge told her to, she flew to Cannes and was photographed next to a big pile of cocaine, but it's okay, because she found a bail bondsman to put up the money to keep her out of the pokey! So that's the latest in Lindsay's Race to Rock Bottom. But there are plenty of other famous people who didn't avoid the slammer, and today we're going to take a look at a few of our favorites.
Robert Downey Jr.
In the roundup of Celebrities Who Have Awesome Stories To Tell, Iron Man himself usually wins. RDJ is a famously recovering drug and alcohol addict, and he served several stretches time in jail over the course of his years of addiction, starting in 1996 and most recently court-ordered rehab in 2001, which turned out to be the time that took. Since 2003 Downey has stayed clean, married producer Susan Levin, and been a dedicated father to his son, 16-year-old Indio. But as a souvenir of his darker days, Downey has one of the best mug shots we've ever seen. No really, it's awesome. And we really do hope he writes a book one day, if only for anecdotes like this one: "I was in a very small room that was being managed by the city of Los Angeles and I was approached by a certain lieutenant and I was pretty sure I'd gotten in trouble for fighting in said institution and that I was going to get another case or whatever. And then he said, 'Look, I got a script.'" Robert Downey Jr. Plays Yenta For Guy Ritchie
