Chaz Bono Is Officially A Man

It's official: Cher and Sonny Bono's daughter is a man, baby!
In September, Chaz underwent "irreversible surgery" to change his "sex characteristics from female to male," and yesterday a judge granted his petition for a legal name and gender change. Chaz's physical change included hormone treatments and surgery to remove his breasts. And although Chaz has been rather open about his transformation, he's never publicly discussed whether he's had or will opt for "bottom surgery." Chaz Bono Speaks Out On Sex Change

Back in March, when his petition was originally filed, Chaz discussed his "amazing journey" with Anderson Cooper: "My friends were all boys when I was little and I just felt like one of them. And then, when puberty hits, it gets really confusing. I realized I had a physical attraction to women and kind of went with the obvious that I must be a lesbian. And it took quite a number of years to realize that wasn't the case, that, in fact, I was transgender."
Speaking to reporters about the court's recognition of his gender yesterday, Chaz said, "It's just a legal thing and I'm really happy that it is taken care of and I can change my ID and everything, which is awesome."
