The former New York Giants football player is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.
We're sad to report that former New York Giants football player Lawrence Taylor was arrested for rape in the wee hours of Thursday morning in New York, CBS reports. The football legend, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in in 1999 and competed in last season's Dancing with the Stars, stands accused of paying a 16-year-old runaway girl $300 to have sex with him. "We spoke to Mr. Taylor and we're convinced that he will be ultimately exonerated of these charges," Taylor's lawyer told CBS. "He's upset. Taylor has been charged with third degree rape and patronizing a prostitute, the former of which could land him up to four years in prison if convicted. Rasheed Davis, the man accused of bringing the girl to Taylor's room, has also charged and arrested in connection with the case.
