As the world mourns the passing of actress Lynn Redgrave, who died on Sunday at the age of 67 after a long battle with cancer, one person is especially regretful, her former husband John Clark.
Although Lynn should be remembered for her tremendous acting chops (she was nominated for 2 Oscars, including one for her role in the 1999 film Gods and Monsters), it was her messy personal life that distinguished her the most from her more famous actor relatives. Natasha Richardson Passes Away

In 1967, she married actor/director John Clark and was seemingly happy, having had three children with him. However, after 32 years of marriage, Lynn discovered that not only did her assistant have an affair with her husband and become impregnated by him, she ran off with her adult son and led Lynn to believe the child was her grandson.
Deeply hurt by the headline-generating scandal, Lynn and John split in 1999 and never spoke again.
However, upon hearing the news of her death, her former husband expressed his regrets and only had kind words to say about Lynn.
"When our marriage fell apart, I was sad. It didn’t have to happen but that’s the way she wanted it. I haven’t heard a word for the past 8 years. I wanted to but she didn’t want to hear from me."

He added: "I hope she finds peace where she is. She’s back in the bosom of her family now and may she rest in peace."
Lynn was alone when she died, but she was certainly loved. Our thoughts are with her family.
