Vaginal Rejuvenation for Mother's Day?
By SassyMarie. Posted on .
I received an email from one of my girlfriends who writes for the Denver Post, apparently got wind of another special day for Mothers and the changes their bodies go through, Vaginal Rejuvenation Awareness Day is on April 30th (click here to check it out).
Now I know Vaginal Rejuvenation has a bad rap and I personally have not had children myself, so can't speak for women that are mommies. But part of me thinks well, if you are unhappy with what has happened to your body or there is a valid medical reason, can this procedure really be a bad thing?
If women are living in silence or shame because of issues like vaginal laxity or Stress Urinary Incontinence and this procedure can help them live happier healthier lives, why the bad rap?
Needless to say after doing some reading, it didn't take me long to discover that vaginal rejuvenation is often touted as "Better Sex for Mommy" or a "tighter vagina" for the male. That it is a frivolous and dangerous procedure that only demeans women.
So I thought to myself, is this yet another example of preying on the insecurities of an individual for personal gain or is it really a viable way for women to regain a sense of normalcy?
Is Vaginal Rejuvenation simply a way for women to correct some very valid changes that take place in the female anatomy due to child bearing?
And if so, are we minimizing its medical merits and limiting these women out of ignorance instead of their defense?
I would love to hear what you think and more importantly be educated by the real people that count...the people having the babies!
If you are a mom and have experienced NO changes physically, please share.
If you are a mom dealing with these changes or issues and appreciate "Vaginal Rejuvenation Awareness Day", please share that too!
