Should Sandra Bullock Accept The Mistress Apology?
By Claire Daniel. Posted on .
Melissa Smith, aka Jesse James mistress #2, aka not the tattooed Nazi one, has faxed Sandra Bullock a seemingly heartfelt apology.
(And yes, she is the second mistress to release a public apology to America's wronged girl next door. Is Bombshell's Apology To Sandra Bullock Sincere?)
"My actions of engaging with a married man are unforgivable," she writes, adding: "Please contact me if you wish to discuss on the phone or in person."
You can read the full letter below, courtesy of TMZ, which does beg the question: How sincere is an apology letter if it is leaked to TMZ?
Anyway, regardless of all that, here are a few other questions to ponder:
If you strip the celebrity out of the scandal, do you think that the mistress's apology is out of line? Do you think that it would help a woman scorned to talk it out with the other woman? Should I Confront The Other Woman?
Dear Sandra,
I'm sure your sic wondering why I'm writing this letter to you. I felt I needed to reach out to you and tell you how deeply sorry I am for everything that you've been through. And I know nothing I can say in this letter is going to make the pain of my actions go away. But I sincerely wanted to take a moment to personally apologize to you.
I know that this message wills sic most likely go unanswered, but I want you to know that I am sorry for any hurt or pain that I have caused you. My actions of engaging with a married man are unforgivable. I never meant you any harm. I compromised by beliefs on several occasions and as a result, will never forgive myself.
I know nothing I can say will take back the hurt that my actions caused. From the bottom of my heart, I hope you accept my sincere apology. Please contact me if you wish to discuss on the phone or in person.
My deepest regrets,
Melissa Smith
