Leighton Meester: Sebastian Stan Breakup Was 'Really Sad'

On-screen, Leighton Meester plays cat-and-mouse with unrequited love Ed Westwick. Off-screen, she was crushed by her breakup from Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan.
Seventeen covergirl Leighton says her split from Sebastian, who played the smarmy Carter Baizen, was rough stuff because he was the first guy she ever actually liked.
"I've only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended," she told the magazine of Sebastian. "But that's what taught me a lot about myself and love and life – and that's good."
Leighton and Sebastian are just one of at least three rocky off-screen GG romances: Blake Lively and Penn Badgley also split and Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick remain somewhere in the 'are they or aren't they' zone.
