Taylor Lautner Meets His Girlfriend's Father

Taylor Lautner has cleared a major hurdle in his reported romance with Abduction co-star Lily Collins: Gaining the approval of her father, pop star Phil Collins.

Marie Claire UK reports that 18-year-old Twilight hunk Lautner experienced his summit with the "In the Air Tonight" singer Collins recently, while filming the two-part Twilight finale Breaking Dawn, after Lily, 21, decided it was time for a face-to-face between her beau and her dad. And despite the 59-year-old rocker having a reputation as a protective dad, a source close the Collins family reports that Lautner managed to worm his way into the elder Collins' good graces:

"He (Phil)'s pretty tough on the guys Lily introduces him to. Taylor was nervous about meeting him, but they got along well."

The couple's action-thriller, meanwhile, is slated for a September 23, 2011 release. Hopefully audiences will be as receptive to the pair as Papa Phil was.
