Gossip Girl star and hockey player are getting hitched.

Hilary Duff and her hockey-player boyfriend, Edmonton Oilers center Mike Comrie, are engaged, a source told E! Online. Hilary, 22, and Mike, who's 29, have been dating for about two years and decided to make it official while on vacation in Hawaii.

With her engagement, Hilary joins Carrie Underwood in the NHL fiancées' club; Carrie said yes to the Ottawa Senators' Mike Fisher in December. Hilary and Mike have been a pretty low-key couple over the past couple of years, especially considering how much attention the actress + pro athlete combination usually draws. If she's showing up at his hockey games, she's not doing it in a pink jersey; no one's accusing her of cursing the team even though the Oilers are in last place in their division; and no one has called her sloppy seconds. All of this makes us think that we should totally start a famous person–athlete matchmaking service. Actors and/or musicians pair up with athletes really well, because both parties tend to be in excellent shape and also very busy and driven, so they understand when their partner has to go on the road or on set. Our first celeb-athlete match would be Jennifer Aniston and Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek. He's a couple of years younger than she is, but with two World Series rings on his hand and his $8 million contract for the 2010 season, he wouldn't be threatened by her earning power.
