Ever since the Brangelina breakup rumors started, there has been a lot of speculation about the reasons why. And now that the news of the split has been flatly denied by those in Brad and Angie's camp, the tabloids have been filled with conflicting reports, leaving us to speculate about what to believe. And while it may be easier (and juicier) to believe that the couple has indeed taken up residence in Splitsville, many of the theories surrounding the breakup are falling apart.
Breakup Myth #1: Brad and Angelina filed legal separation papers.
The New York Daily News recently reported that while the power couple did, in fact, meet with their lawyers right before the breakup story hit, it was to plan for their family's future. A source explains, "They aren't married, so they need to protect their children and property in case there's a rift in the future. People hear 'legal papers' and assume it means a divorce. But it could mean exactly the opposite. Either way, they're making sure to get their ducks in a row, which they'll need whether they split or stay together forever." The Legal Side of Love
Breakup Myth #2: Angelina cheated on Brad.
In Touch Weekly claimed that Angie had sex with her dialect coach while filming Salt. However, when E! News spoke with the man in question, 51-year-old Howard Samuelsohn, he revealed that he didn't even directly work with Angelina because she doesn't speak with a dialect in the film. Instead, she had several Russian language teachers. As for the alleged affair, Howard explained that ITW contacted him to ask about his relationship to Ang: "I told them, 'I know her professionally. She's very nice.' And then I immediately became the guy who slept with Angelina Jolie."
Breakup Myth #3: Brad bought a new "bachelor pad."
When the news broke that Brad purchased a cabin (complete with some sort of man cave), everyone assumed that the "official" split was on the horizon. But TMZ discovered that the house, which Brad actually bought over the summer, is right next to his current home. So he's not moving on, he's adding on.
