Hooker Owes $800k In Back-Taxes
A Polish pro owes her government big.

A Polish prostitute is being charged over $800,000 in back taxes. The woman, who describes herself as unemployed, made a bunch of dough lying on her back and Uncle Sam-owski wants his cut. Per Reuters, the woman is from the town of Katowice and made at least 13.7 million zlotys during her career and the Polish equivalent of the IRS (there's a joke in there somewhere) believes she should pay them 2.3 million zlotys ($820,000). If you do the math, that's roughly $4.9 million. I'm not sure how far the zlotys stretches out in the provinces but you would guess that almost $5 million dollars would probably make for some fine living. But there are a few parts of this story that don't really add up, in my book.

First, although prostitution is legal in Poland, it seems like hooking is generally a cash business. It keeps suspicious entries off of MasterCard bills and keeps the wheels of the underworld properly greased. Read: Famous London Call Girl Reveals True Identity

Next, one of her Johns (or Johans in Poland) paid her roughly $1.5 million (5 million zlotys) over a five-year period. If you're seeing a pro for five years and made her a millionaire, it's no longer a business transaction, that's a relationship, friend.

Finally, it's a little surprising that the Polish government didn't figure this out sooner. Maybe they'll create a way to tax everyone on a transaction basis or find madams with CPAs. They could desperately use the revenue. The Polish navy has a huge budget for submarine screen doors that needs to be funded.
