Dennis Hopper's Deathbed Divorce

Straight out of a soap opera, a dying Dennis Hopper — purportedly "mentally incapacitated from the enormous amounts of medication he is on given his state," according to a family friend — has filed for divorce from his wife of fourteen years, Victoria Hopper. 12 Inappropriate Times To Break Up

This is the Easy Rider's fifth marriage, albeit his longest, and the couple has a six-year-old daughter together. Hopper has three grown children from previous marriages.

Diagnosed with prostate cancer ten years ago, the star "knew he was on borrowed time" when finishing filming the series finale of the T.V. series Crash and has now "come to grips with the fact that the end is likely near," reports a close source to the Enquirer.

Close family friends have leaked their suspicions about the divorce to the press, with one long time friend of the couple saying to the Huffington Post:

"It's truly a tragedy, and sadly its all about the money and who inherits what. This is about getting Victoria out of the will, nothing more, nothing less."
