In the U.K., when something goes horribly, horribly wrong, the situation is often referred to as "going pear shaped." In women's style magazines, there are countless quick wardrobe fixes to camouflage an undesirable "pear shaped" bottom. Being pear shaped is not good. Apple bottomed, yes. Hour glass, oh yeah. Long-legged, why of course!
As Jennifer Love Hewitt notes "It's not cute. It's not a cute fruit." And not something you want your boyfriend comparing your bottom to the first time he gets a good look at it, for sure! Especially if your big behind has long since been forgotten as the inspiration for John Mayer's hit Your Body Is A Wonderland, but instead is recounted as Prime Example # 1: Celebrity Cellulite.
Well, that's just what Ghost Whisperer co-star Jamie Kennedy did when checking out her bountiful booty in the beginning of their relationships — and it almost cost him big time. Ghost Whisperer: What Ghosts Teach Us About Love
As JLH recounted to TBS talk show Lopez Tonight (via Us Weekly):
"We had a rough patch in the beginning because the first time we went on vacation, I was going to be in a bikini, and I was very nervous. I heard him coming down the hall, so I got in the cute bikini position. And he goes, 'Hey, my little pear ass.' "I said, 'I'm sorry, what did you say?'"
Hewitt, 30, then explained to Lopez that the remark wasn't a compliment. "Have you ever seen a pear?" she asked. "It starts thin, it gets fat and it never gets thin again. It's not cute. It's not a cute fruit."
Hmmm... As Celebitchy points out, this isn't the first time that the couple has told the "pear-ass" story, although in other versions we have her "pear ass" butt naked, and he's making her recount his insult on stage before hundreds!
Apparently the clueless Jamie "didn't mean" for the "pear ass" quip to be taken as an insult — "He thought it was a compliment, I think..." — and the two have worked it out.
"We've embraced the pear," she said, whatever that means. And so it looks like he is out of the dog house — that is until he misses the deadline to propose! Jennifer Love Hewitt Makes A Marriage Deadline
Surprisingly, Jennifer's "pear ass" story was not the most shocking revelation in that interview. Turns out a friend once "Swarovski-crystalled [her] precious lady" after a bad breakup.
