Paul McCartney Set to Marry Again

You’ve got to hand it to some people: they really do believe that love conquers all, no matter how badly they’ve been burned. Sir Paul McCartney is in the news again since it appears that the Beatle and legendary rock star is poised to get married again.  Paul’s girlfriend, shipping heir Nancy Shevell, has finalized her divorce from her now ex-husband and it looks like Sir Paul is ready to make the lovely lady his wife. Furthermore, word is that Paul's daughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney, has given her blessing, crucially important since of all his childrens' opposition to his marriage and subsequently expensive divorce from Heather Mills, Stella was the most vocally opposed. Evidently, Nancy and Paul have known each other for almost 30 years as the two and their former spouses were quite close friends in the Hamptons, with Nancy received a diagnosis shortly after Paul’s deceased wife Linda in 1996. The two have remained friends and a romance sparked after Paul became available.

If that isn’t enough to get an "Aww" out of you, try this little nugget: it appears that the romance took off last August when the two made the decision to drive across the US in a 1989 Ford Bronco on old Route 66, staying in motels and hotels along the way. A source close to the couple says, "The road trip was when they realised quite how much they loved each other. They’ve both got loads of money but they were at their happiest just driving together in an old car staying in motels. Paul is basically a very down-to-earth guy and he was blown away to discover that Nancy is also very chilled and relaxed. Now everything is in place for Paul and Nancy to make their lives together – with the approval of both of their families." Even better, since both parties are deeply in love, mature and quite wealthy, the prenup may not that big of an issue this time. Upgrade!

It’s hard to capture lightening in a bottle and we were a little nervous after the highly public court battle and demise of Paul’s marriage to Heather Mills, but this is a story that gives all of us hope. Finding love again is hard but it appears possible. Now if we can just get Ringo on drums at the reunion, all will be right in the world.
