Some people scrapbook or write in a journal to express their creativity. Gwyneth Paltrow has evidently decided to blog and make the world a better place and it is rumored to be causing some strain in her marriage. Gwyneth’s blog, GOOP, is a lifestyle blog where Gwyneth gives you advice on how to live your best life, providing tips on clothes, detox diets, travel, spirituality and basically how to be Gwyneth. Think of it as the lovechild of Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey with a splash of the Dalai Lama thrown in. Widely panned  by critics, the blog is rumored to be having a bit of a negative impact on her uber-private husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who is reportedly opposed to drawing unnecessary attention to their relationship and their private lives.

"A source tells British magazine Now, "Goop’s causing incredible friction between Gwyneth and Chris. He hates any exposure outside of what he considers necessary - his music, charity work and her acting. He thinks Goop’s self-indulgent and hates the speculation that the advice she gives on relationships or family problems may be an insight to their own personal life. Gwyneth doesn’t want to come across as a hypocrite. She knows people will think that advice she’s put on the site is a reflection of what’s happening in her own life, but if she distances herself from those assumptions, people wouldn’t buy into Goop. She’s defensive about it. It’s her baby and she won’t be told what to do. Gwyneth wants to be the new Martha Stewart. She wants to launch her own homeware range, a fashion line, a food range and self-help books. Chris argued that this will put her even more on the radar, but she’s a determined woman."

Hmm. Yeah, you can only imagine that giving advice on how others should live their lives puts a heck of a spotlight on your own. But for now, Gwyneth appears determined to press forward with GOOP. We'll see how it impacts Chris who evidently thinks it's a self-indulgent vanity project. I wonder if Gwyneth's BFF Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie would like to weigh in on how exposing aspects of your life to the public eye starts to put strain on a marriage. Whatever the case, we hope they get past all of this.

Although, we have to admit it will be very interesting to see if this experience makes it into the next Coldplay album. We’ll keep you posted.
