Renee Zellweger Is Too Busy to Date

The star has too much going on to find a man right now.

Starpulse reports that in the new February 2009 issue of Marie Claire, Renee Zellweger says that she’s “too busy” to date. She explains, “The thing is, I'm away all the time. I suppose if I sat still long enough to get to know somebody beyond a dinner date, maybe. But I don't feel like my life is empty or that I have to make something happen. I have projects to develop. I want to study American history and political science, live in an apartment in France, and fix my bad French. And is there really time for all of it? I'm not single, I'm busy. That's my line. I never say never about anything because I look back on my own personal history and it shocks me. If I would ever have said, 'Oh, for sure this is going to be in my future,' most of my experiences would not have been on my list. So I don't even bother thinking about it, because I've learned that there's no anticipating that stuff.”

Zellweger’s dating life has been pretty much nil since her four-month marriage and subsequent annulment from singer Kenny Chesney in 2005. The actress was rumored to have dated George Clooney (and/or John Krasinski) on the set of their movie, Leatherheads, but other than that those rumors, it appears that the actress might really be happily flying solo for now.

There are multiple schools of thought on whether or not you can really be too busy to date, but the bottom line is really that no one is really too busy to date; you have just placed your priorities and energy elsewhere. Since Zellweger travels extensively and has a laundry list of things she’d rather do than put the focus on her love life, she has made herself too busy to date. But anyone from Bill Gates to Oprah Winfrey to divorced and working mothers of five know that what you put your intent and energy into becomes part of your life. If captains of industry and entertainment find time for date night and single working mothers find time to get their groove on, it is possible for Zellweger to find time to put some focus into further her romantic interests.

However, that being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with putting focus elsewhere. If you need to take a break, do it. If you need to take a few months or a few years, do what is right for you. But know that once you’re ready to open the door to love, it will definitely come knocking again and maybe you’ll find it even better the next time around.

Can you relate?
