it's perfectly legit to perform a background check on your potential partner. if they're creepy and trying to hide something this is the only way you'll ever know
Now whoooooo hooooooo, wait just a second here, since when did having a Dungeons and Dragons fan club memberships become such a bad thing... come to think of it, do they really even exist???? But honestly, all kidding aside, does this writer even know anything about strategic roll playing games? I know this might sound a little uncharitable but i'm just gonna put it out there anyway, i think she might be a little out of touch. Thats right, a little out of touch. And heres why, ever since TSR's Gary Gygax (RIP!) launched Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, Dungeons & Dragons became but a trifle, KIDS STUFFS!! Not to mention the catastrophic effects that occurred when Wizards of the Coast bought out TSR, turning AD&D into a kind of relic of nostalgia for kids playing their own product Magic the Gathering or worst still live action Vampire the Masquerade (uhhhhh). The point here is, what are you doing with some crusty dude who is old enough to remembers D&D before AD&D in the first place!!! Or alternately some Williamsburg trust fund hipster who thought it was ironic to champion the marginalized culture of dorks and virgins? Nobody should ever need a private investigator or a google search to tell them to steer clear here.
Very well written and funny! The New York Times never ceases to entertain (unintentionally)...
