Sandra Bullock And Jesse James Under Stress

Sandra Bullock Jesse James

Sandra Bullock's marriage to her husband of four years, Jesse James, is under more stress than is usual to the actress and the star of Monster Garage, who usually live a low-key life in Texas. They are fighting for custody of Jesse's daughter, and now Sandra's told Parade magazine that she's high maintenance, controlling, and annoying, and was surprised that he wanted to "wake up to this at five in the morning."

Sandra and Jesse are involved in a custody dispute over Jesse's five-year-old daughter, Sunny. Sunny lived full-time with her dad and stepmother while her mother, porn star Janine Lindemulder, was serving a six-month jail sentence for tax evasion. Janine was released last month and now is living in a halfway house in Los Angeles. She can seek custody of Sunny at the end of the year. Are You a Family if You Don't Have Kids?

Jesse has filed a statement with the Orange County courts, asking for a ruling on whether Janine is a fit parent. "Good cause exists for the court to conduct a review to determine if [the girl] will be safe with [Lindemulder]," the filing reads. "She should be restrained from allowing the child around pornographers, drug addicts, guns and firearms, felons and other unsafe environments."

Jesse also has two older kids from his first marriage, and Sandra has said that she's very happy being an involved stepmother. "I don't see the difference in having blood-related kids or children who come with your husband," she has said. "I am very blessed." She's also blessed with a husband who, in her words, takes on her "controlling" personality. "I know I'm not easy to deal with," Sandra told Parade. "I'm controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists. My mind goes a mile a minute. I'm difficult on every single level. I'm aware that I can be annoying.

"I didn't grow up thinking, 'I'm gonna get married and have someone take care of me.' I always wanted to be happy, have a good time, work hard. It took someone like him who was unafraid." Discuss: Dating Someone With Kids

Sandra's next film, fittingly, is about the families you make yourself. She stars in The Blind Side, based on the true story of Baltimore Ravens player Michael Oher, who was adopted by a Tennessee family as a homeless teenager. Sandra plays Leigh Anne Tuohy, Oher's adoptive mother.
