Josh Duggar Helps Deliver The First Grandduggar

The oldest Duggar and his wife Anna welcome a baby girl.

Upon exchanging vows last year, Josh and Anna Duggar, both currently 21, were asked repeatedly about how many children they planned to have. Would they delay and space out their children, as Josh's parents did during the first few years of their marriage? Or would they follow the Quiverful movement that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are known for today (allowing God to determine how many children might enter their family)? A Very Duggar Wedding

Not surprisingly, Josh and Anna — both being of the same faith as current-day Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar — said they would be choosing the latter route, and made their intentions known via their website ("In our vows to each other at the wedding ceremony, we committed to God that we would leave the timing and amount of children in His hands.") Parents Project Love Lives On Kids

Well, it looks like God has made a very quick and firm decision. Less than thirteen months into their marriage, Josh and Anna are parents to a healthy baby girl. Weighing in at eight pounds, she was born on October 8th. Her name is Mackynzie Renee (Mackynzie after one of Josh's cousins, Renee after Anna's middle name). She was delivered at home with the help of a midwife and a doula. And according to People, Josh "was excited to participate in the birth as well."  Don't Let Kids Ruin Your Sex Life

Baby Mackynzie is the first grandchild born to the family famous for their popular TLC series 18 Kids and Counting. She beats her newest uncle/aunt (the 19th Duggar child) into the world by a few months. And, fortunately for fans of the Duggars, her birth will be shown to the world on a TLC special entitled The First Grandduggar.

No doubt, there will be many more to follow. Though, unlike Michelle and Jim Bob's kids (Josh, Janna, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johanna, Jennifer, and Jordyn-Grace.), Josh and Anna say their names may not all start with the same letter.
