Me and my guy are trying to start our family, we want to get married and buy our own house but its hard with the money fight we have a son and another on the way so were stuck renting the place we're in and holding off on the wedding til we can afford it. The part thats hard is that we never used to fight very often now evertime we do fight its about money and bills and how to stretch it further without giving up too much... we'll get through it but overall the recession HAS made our relationship harder. : (

Well, I don't think a wedding and a house is worth your relationship going down. Weddings are for everyone else not for you, women get so involved in wedding and forget why they are really getting married. Its 4 the love of that man, yeah you want to have your day, but why waste money on something thats going to last one day, marry your man at the courthouse and later down the road celebrate with a glamorous over the top anniversary party when money starts looking up, hey you can even say you renewing your vows, that way you can really start counting the years you have been married, renew your vows and do it big on your one year with a beautiful ceremony and wedding gown. I went from renting to owning a house, a lot of responsiblity, so if you guys are arguing now you will be arguing later, my exhusband (recently divorced) spent so much time at work because everytime something fell apart that he couldn't fix we had to pay, eventually our marriage fell apart because he was always at work and frustrated that his life was work and I was frustrated he wasnt spending anytime w/ me. It ended us, that stupid house, the house I dreamed of. Now I'm in a 2 bdrm apartment and so happy, I wish I would have stayed renting.

Too bad, recession has changed the lives of every people in the world, hope that we could get through this soon. A lot of large companies have been hit hard by today's recession, and one of the measures they're taking to cut expenditures is to scale back or eliminate matching contributions to employee's 401(k) retirement accounts. If this is an employee straight out of college, it might not be such a big deal, but workers nearing retirement having a cessation of contribution into the 401(k) retirement accounts can be a serious problem. The 401(k), along with Roth IRAs, is the most common retirement savings and investment method. If employers don't resume making any 401(k) retirement accounts contributions any time soon, a lot of people will need debt relief after retirement, when they shouldn't be worrying about anything.
