Jaime Pressly Ties The Knot

Less than a year after separating from her baby's father, Jaime Pressly marries another man.

We want to be happy for Jaime Pressly. Honestly we do. Getting married, after all, is a huge day in anyone's life. It's the first step toward a very big commitment. It's the basis of a million shows on WE.

Nonetheless, we can't help but feel a little bit skeptical about Jaime's Malibu nuptials on Saturday night to entertainment lawyer Simran Singh. Why?

First, there's the fact that the wedding happened so quickly. Just ten months ago, Jaime, 32, was still with Eric Cubiche, her longtime fiance and father of her two-year-old son, Dezi (yes, we admit: this is not Kardashian quickly, but it is speedy nonetheless.) Second, Jaime admitted to US magazine prior to the ceremony that the thing she was most looking forward to about married life was: "Just being a Mrs. I'm very excited to be in a partnership." Isn't that an admission of just being happy to be married in general, as opposed to being happy to be with her new husband in particular?

Third, People magazine reminds us of what Jaime told Redbook in March: "I'd like to be with somebody who isn't afraid to take care of me, whether they have the same financial means as me or not." Translation: I'm needy, needy, needy.

Yes, we know. It's hard to be a southern-bred girl who's in her thirties and still unmarried. And yes, we realize it's hard to be a single mom, regardless of where you're from. And of course, you don't need to explain to us that Hollywood people are famously needy.

We just hope that Jaime Pressly really loves this guy. We hope that she's happy. And we hope she's not settling. After all, a marriage is something you're in for a lot longer than a high-profile Malibu wedding, even if you are in Hollywood.

Can you relate?
