Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn's relationship began as many do: with many high points. Among them: early days of dating in 1989, nuptials in 1993, and the births of their two children, daughter Dylan, 18, and son Hopper Jack, 16. As the years have passed, however, the couple experienced more ups and downs, and People lays them all out in their online edition today. Sean Penn & Robin Wright Penn Split (Again)
-In December 2007, both Wright, 43, and Penn, 49, file for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."
-In February 2008, Penn steps out with Petra Nemcova after the Oscars, but neither acknowledges their relationship publicly.
-In April 2008, the two stop the divorce proceedings. The same day the court clerk dismises the petition at their request, they are seen together at an Eddie Vedder concert in San Francisco.
-In February 2009, the two attend the Oscars together, but upon winning in his category, Penn does not thank Wright in his acceptance speech.
-In April 2009, Penn files again for legal separation from Wright, only to rescind his decision a month later.
-In August 2009, Wright files for divorce. According to legal papers in Marin County, California, the estranged couple agrees to "division of all property" and "[shared] custody of Hopper Jack, who still lives at home.
Based on their off-and-on track record, it would be easy to presume that the two will patch things up before a divorce is finalized. But Wright hints in an interview with September's More magazine that that will not be happening this time. "I know what I don't want," she says, adding that: "I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together."
