Yesterday after Jude Law's rep announced that an ex-girlfriend had told Jude he was fathering her baby, we reported that speculations swirled around the possibility that the mother was Kayleen McAdams. Kayleen is a 27-year-old makeup artist and actress Rachel McAdams' little sister.

Jude's publicist did not comment for us on Kayleen's role in the matter, but last night our friends at TMZ reported that a different woman has stepped forward to confirm that she is the baby's mother.

The new woman is 24-year-old Samantha Burke, an aspiring actress and model from Pensacola, Florida. Reports have suggested that she and Jude had a rendezvous around the holidays last year in New York City where Samantha was pursuing modeling gigs and Jude was filming Sherlock Holmes with producer Guy Ritchie.

TMZ said DNA tests confirmed Jude as the dad, and here's the statement Samantha's lawyer released:

Ms. Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr. Law and that she has informed Mr. Law that she is expecting his child later this fall. Since informing Mr. Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms. Burke and the pregnancy.

TMZ said Samantha is expecting a little girl on October 6 and planning to name her Sophia. She is reportedly registered at Babies "R" Us.

Radar Online is saying that Samantha had to jump through hoops to contact Jude, already a father of four kids (three biological with ex-wife Sadie Frost), to tell him the news. The phone number he gave her had been shut off and she had to reach him through his publicist. Apparently she'd been telling friends that she and Jude were hooking up and that he insisted on not using any protection.
