A Can't-Miss Rule Book For Singles

A field guide for singles from the scribe who brought us "Sex and the City."

In case you missed it last summer, the famed writer of television-series celebrity, Liz Tuccillo, who wrote saucy episodes of Sex and the City is back on shelves. The reprint of her debut fiction novel, How To Be Single, reads as a smart, funny guidebook for unattached women.

Told in a comic voice (because, let's be honest, if you can't laugh about your mishaps and snafus as a single person, good luck!) the book is narrated by a created character named Julie Jensen, age 38, who's on a journey to find the ideal mate and accomplish her life goals and dreams.

These singledom adventures take place across the globe, from Australia to Iceland, China Indonesia and other exotic locales, where romantic trysts take shape. Filled with rules every living-it-up still-seaching single is advised to follow, the trials and tribulations will ring familiar with any reader who has ever spent a week, month or even year or two on the prowl.Single And Don't Want To Be? It's hard to match the popular TV series Sex and the City, where week after week we were able to see real women (well TV characters who seemed believable) carry out the charades of single life in the flashing-lights big city. But we're eager to pore through this book in its entirety. It's sure to be filled with even more of the single-life stories and sagas we love (and can relate to).

True too that it will be hard to top Tuccillo's most recent book, the raging success, He's Just Not That Into You. We hope she'll bring home, as she has before (in SATC) the idea that singlehood is all about mindset. No one is ever forced to be single and Tuccillo's line, which we adore and wholly subscribe to, tends to be: If you're going at it solo ladies, own it.
