Debbie Rowe Blasts Media For Custody Payoff Rumors

New York Post breaks 'false' story; Rowe not taking $4 million from Jacksons in exchange for kids.

Debbie Rowe may be distant from her children—but it sounds like she loves them.

Last week she cried after seeing daughter Paris's emotional speech to the world at Michael Jackson's memorial, and now Debbie's blasting the media for reporting yesterday that she and the Jacksons have struck up a four million-dollar deal if she agrees to leave the children with Michael's mother Katherine Jackson (but strictly out of the care of his father Joe Jackson). According to Limelife, yesterday's report wasn't accurate. Debbie's lawyers have written an angry letter to the New York Post, who are said to have broken yesterday's story. The letter demanded that the Post retract its story and called the settlement rumors "unequivocally false." It also included the following:

"It would be easier to identify those few background facts that are accurate than to catalogue the number of blatant falsehoods in your story...Particularly insidious is your misrepresentation that Ms. Rowe has accepted money to give up custody rights. That statement is unequivocally false.” The letter continues: “There has been no agreement reached between Ms. Rowe and the Jacksons...Ms. Rowe has not and will not ‘give up her parental rights’...No determination has been reached concerning custody or visitation…Ms. Rowe has not accepted – and will not accept – any additional financial consideration beyond the spousal support she and Michael Jackson personally agreed to several years ago."

So there we have it. We'll learn more on July 20, when Debbie is scheduled to attend an official custody hearing with the Jacksons over the future of her biological children Prince Michael Jackson I, 12, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11. Divorce and Children
