When British reality stars Katie "Jordan" Price and Peter Andre announced their separation a few months back, we here at YourTango were devastated. Like a lot of celebrity gossip sites, we found ourselves asking painful, difficult questions, like: "Who are we going to write about now when we are hankering for news about a couple with matching spray-on tans?" and "Will any celebrity couple ever sing the theme song from Aladdin as beautifully as they did?"
Fortunately for us, there's still plenty being reported on the Price-Andre coupling, and a lot of it is coming courtesy of — surprise — Katie and Peter themselves. The juiciest news so far comes from an interview Katie recently did with Piers Morgan (airing on British television this weekend). Among the big revelations: that Andre did not like the fact that she binge drinks.
"I don't smoke, I don't take drugs, but occasionally I'm a binge drinker...I know I'm a nightmare. When I have a drink I want to take my clothes off...it is a nightmare." Sex And Drugs Made Me A Man
Katie also reveals that when they were together, she and Peter enjoyed sex and that she was obsessed with him.
"We were just so into each other, we had great sex, um, we did everything together, we just had a complete laugh, it was amazing...we were, well I was, completely obsessed." Top 10 British Celebrity Crushes
On a sadder note, Katie reveals that she suffered a miscarriage just weeks before she and Andre separated. The miscarriage was discovered during a rouine exam.
"I went in thinking, 'He's going to be great. He's going to see a heartbeat. And it was on the screen and you know they poke the thing around, he said, 'No, it's, it's died. It's gone.' I said, 'Well, what are we going to do?' and he said, 'Well, we can terminate it tonight.'"
The stress of the miscarriage, however, was not the reason behind her split with Andre. Months before it happened, they were already experiencing marital problems, which Katie blames partly on their move to the U.S.
"It's such a shame because we were so in love and the American trip we never, ever should have done. I mean I used to say to Pete...I don't want to work with you all the time because when you come home what do you talk about?" My Wife Is My Boss: An Entrepreneur Couple's Tale
As painful as the divorce is, Katie is moving on.
"I have gone through so much...the baby thing, the being dumped...so what? I'm doing nothing different to any other girl out there, except mine's in the papers and on TV."
Indeed it is, Katie. Both abroad and right here in the U.S. And we thank you for that.
