Porno Plots Losing Their Edge, Per The NY Times
The internet has made the porn industry cut back on frills like dialogue, story and acting.
As sad as the demise of plot and nuance in jerk films are, isn't it similar to big effects films (like that Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen movie, in theaters now) rolling over arty pictures in the mainstream box office (like that one Philip Seymour Hoffman movie)? It looks like all we want to do is giggle and see big explosions either on the edge of our seat in the multiplex or excitedly in front of a laptop.
Hopefully, we'll get sick of the easy action of today's moneymaking films and get back to the art of cinematic storytelling or include, at least, include more special effects in jerk films.
