For Jon & Kate Gosselin, 'Independence Day' bears a new meaning. But they meant what they said last week: their primary goal during their messy public divorce is to focus on the well-being of their eight kids.
We're impressed. According to People.com, Jon & Kate came together to throw a happy Fourth of July party for the eight mini-Gosselins at their Pennsylvania home. This most festive of American holidays crept up after they filed for divorce two weeks ago, but Kate told People that Jon pointed to a calendar last month and asked, "What are we going to do about that?" They made a pact to set aside their differences and have a picnic at their home in Pennsylvania. Kate said, "I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don't care what it takes. I will be there." Reese's Tips For Sharing Custody Over The Holidays
And are those...fireworks we see? Photos show Jon and Kate chatting together on multiple occasions and smiling while Jon lights a sparkler. The whole fam played volleyball and went blueberry-picking for a cake that Kate baked...but here's the real mystery: it looks like Kate may still be wearing her wedding band. Jon is still rocking a ring as well. It does appear as though he broke away for a private cell convo and to ride that ridiculous four-wheeler, but the possible sparks beg the question: could these two be happier than they're letting on?
