At least this time around, Nick Lachey can't blame his relationship fallout on the curse of having a reality show.

Breakup rumors have dogged the pair for months, but up until now, the couple had denied any trouble in paradise. Minnillo even told People in early June that her relationship was "very much still on" and made a display of her five carat ring on her left middle finger. She boasted that it would be ten carats before it moved one finger over. Unfortunately, eyewitnesses for The National Enquirer have painted a different picture, reporting the two's sullen behavior toward each other in restaurants and Minnillo's "single girl" behavior in April. Also according to the Enquirer, Vanessa had been wanting to start a family with Nick, but he was simply not on the same page. Read: Should You Wait For Commitment Or Walk Away?
Both sides have since confirmed the breakup.
"They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another," Minnillo's rep told People.com.
Another source also confirmed that Lachey and Minnillo are "still friends. It was the right thing for both of them to do."
Nick's previous relationship with singer Jessica Simpson—which was documented on their reality show, Newlyweds—culminated in a 2006 divorce. Lachey expressed his heartbreak by releasing the single (and album) "What's Left of Me" and Minnillo was cast in the music video, where the two hit it off on set.
